New Year's resolutions. I know, I know. It's now trendy not to make them. Too much pressure, and self-shaming when they go incomplete. But, I don't care. I love New Year resolutions. I like the way they make me feel. All fresh and new and hopeful. And who doesn't love a list of "to-dos"? This girl does! So here we go. I resolve (or more accurately 'will try'):
*to move my body with some kind of sweating involved 3 times a week.
*to learn how to properly apply eye shadow.
*to find and keep a signature scent (my mom used to spray her perfume on letters and then send them. My kids always loved to smell Emmie in the mailbox).
*to write more.
The truer more important list includes better using my gifts and talents to love God and his people. At the end of 2016 I want to know I made a difference to someone somewhere. And that my good and gracious God is pleased. I have no idea what's on this list but, God already does. I want to be ready with a shoulder to cry on, a home cooked meal, the late night call, money given, money spent, truths that encourage, admonish and offer hope. And when he nudges me to serve I resolve to respond.
I'll keep you posted! What are your 2016 resolutions?
